Our Story
Matsaya is a company founded by four friends from the Philippines in 2019. They started in a small booth selling bubble tea and street food for Philippine Independence Day and officially launched at Gladmat in Stavanger the same year. After a huge success in festivals they opened their first restaurant in Bystasjonen, Sandnes year 2020. Thereafter, opened their 2nd concept BBQ and Hotpot in 2022 and Third concept Ramen Namen year 2023 both in Pedersgata, Stavanger.
Goal
Matsaya comes from the filipino word "Masaya" which means happy. It also directly translates to gladmat or Happy food. The aim of the company is to share happiness and culture through their food, drinks and their happy service.
